Capital Pub and Hot Dog
/I have been wanting to try Capital Pub and Hot Dog since it had opened. However I have been pushing it off for a couple reasons. First- I am not a big fan of buying a hot dog when eating out. Two- It is a little off the beaten path from where I live. So I was excited to see a Groupon Coupon for $20 worth of food for $10. So the kids and I headed down for Saturday lunch.
Located just south of the East Village in a converted 2 story house. They have a small patio, booth and tables, and bar with a few large screen TV's to watch the game. The menu has about a dozen different hot dog variations, a slew of sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. They do have a kid's menu.
I guess the Groupon Coupon was a hot thought as the place was packed except the bar area. We sat down and received friendly service with a smile. They looked a bit short handed today but they were doing their best to keep up. My kids went with the "Naked" dog with waffle fries- It is a good size hot dog and the kids loved it. They serve 100% all beef Klement's Hot Dogs which I can't say we have had before. I went with the "Homewrecker". It is what it is advertised and is massive half pound hot dog. I added homemade chili and jalapenos. The chili was really seasoned ground beef- I was thinking something different, but it was good.

Overall my experience here was good. Kids liked it. I think it is worth a visit anytime you are hankering for a good hot dog. With all the different topping options you can have hundreds of variations.
